As the Site Project Manager, your workday begins at an industrial construction site. You’ll be responsible for planning and organizing the daily activities on site alongside your team. You will serve as the main point of contact for customers, authorities, contractors, and partners at the construction site. You will closely coordinate and collaborate with the project management and the project team in the back office.
Responsibilities:
- Legally accountable for the project site and all personnel working on-site.
- Ensures adherence to regulations, requirements, and procedures related to occupational environmental health and safety (EHS) while fostering and leading the Zero Harm Culture within their scope of responsibility.
- Acts as the on-site representative of Project Management, engaging with customers, authorities, contractors, partners, and consultants.
- Oversees on-site execution, financial outcomes, schedules, and quality results related to the scope of work, utilizing standardized tools.
- Manages and documents deviations from erection procedures, instructions, specifications, and schedules, and oversees contract and claim management activities as necessary.
- Escalates issues that could potentially affect the scope, budget, and/or timeline.
- Coordinates and monitors corrective actions, cost-assessed risk mitigation, and opportunity management for the discipline.
- Reviews concurrent cost accounting within the discipline, including cost-to-complete estimates.
- Conducts regular reviews of the project schedule with regard to erection activities.
- Ensures feedback of experience and information, updates the List of Open Points (supported by SE PE tool landscape).
- Supports project site-specific reporting, including daily and weekly reports.
- Ensures that all open technical project changes are resolved before the relevant milestones (e.g., system completion for erection).
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in construction of complex industrial projects (preferable for High voltage direct current (HVDC) power transmission projects) - EPC and/or Consortium projects
- Willingness to work in Germany at construction site
- At least 5 years onsite experience in a leading position (E/Civil site lead) on major construction sites; Knowledge of Construction/ Commissioning processes and methodologies
- In depth knowledge and competence in EHS policies, practices, regulations, and plans for onsite works for complex construction projects.
- Proven experience in leading multinational teams in a quick changing environment and excellent communication and leadership skills
- Higher education degree in an electrical or civil engineering discipline
- PM Certification is a plus (e.g. IPMA)
- German and English language: Advanced – reading and writing
