Project: Lynn & Inner Dowsing offshore wind farm service
A British client commissioned us to organize teams for quality control of steel structures of Lynn & Inner Dowsing offshore wind farms (54 windmills in total).
Our task was to recruit team members, provide them with all the tools for their work, organize accommodation and logistics, and coordinate the inspection schedule. The teams consisted of one 141/111 welder, a grinder and an NDT inspector.
Implementation of the service consisted of:
- approaching and mooring the boat to the windmill structure (stopping could not exceed 2.5h)
- Preparation by the grinder of the surface of the structure (mainly the so-called stopper plates) for NDT – VT and MT testing by removing paint from the welds
- conducting an NDT test
- If a defect is found: the weld is cut out by a grinder and a new weld is placed by a welder
