main
contract
Fuel changeover at a 300MW combined heat and power plant in Southwest Germany. Installation of gas turbine, generator and auxiliary systems.
In April 2023, representatives of our company made a site visit to the facility. At the request of the Piping Installation Manager on behalf of the Investor, we were asked to provide a bid in connection with the renewed need for replacement of the contractor.
The first scopes were strictly about completing the piping installation work after the previous two contractors. Before starting the work, we proposed to carry out a detailed inventory and prepare a report on the compliance of the completed work. We sent three engineers to the project, who were scheduled to spend two weeks there, but in the end the inventory took only three days. The result of the inventory team’s work was a report of forty pages, which described the disastrous condition of the installation and presented a plan for completing and commissioning the installation.
The investor, as well as the General Contractor, had already pressed for the deployment of contractor personnel during the inventory. The first group consisted of twelve people, and after three weeks it had grown to forty specialists, including fitters, welders, helpers, Site Manager, HSE, coordinator and warehouseman.
We engaged in work organization, daily tool boxes, weekly training and health and safety seminars (Take 5) and took the lead on the site. From June to October 2023, we completed most of the outstanding work and corrections from our predecessors. As of November 2023, a team of five remained on the project to support the Investor’s engineering team during the pre-launch phase.
