Role Overview
The Authorised Person (HV & LV) is responsible for the safe isolation, control and preparation of both high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems within an offshore wind farm project. The role supports installation, commissioning and maintenance activities by ensuring full compliance with project electrical safety rules and permit-to-work procedures.
This position operates under the authority of the Senior Authorised Person.
Key Responsibilities
- High Voltage (66kV / 220kV)
- Perform isolation of HV systems in accordance with project HV safety rules
- Apply and verify Lock-Out / Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures
- Prepare equipment for testing, maintenance and commissioning
- Support switching operations under SAP instruction
- Ensure safe access to HV equipment (WTG, OSS, export systems)
- Maintain isolation records and documentation
- Low Voltage (690V / 400V)
- Isolate LV auxiliary and turbine internal systems
- Implement LV permit-to-work procedures
- Control access to LV switchboards and distribution systems
- Support mechanical completion and internal WTG works
- Coordinate with commissioning and testing engineers
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and project procedures
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Report unsafe conditions or non-compliance
- Interface with commissioning, testing and construction teams
Requirements
- Recognised HV Authorised Person certification (minimum 66kV; 220kV preferred)
- LV Authorised Person qualification (up to 1kV AC)
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in industrial electrical systems
- Experience in offshore wind or large infrastructure projects preferred
- Strong understanding of HV switching diagrams and single-line diagrams
- Knowledge of LOTO procedures and electrical safety standards
- Ability to work in a high-pressure commissioning environment
- Fluent English
