The HSE Officer will act as the Environment, Health & Safety representative during the defined period of the project. The HSE Officer will support the Site Manager, Supervisors, Subcontractors, and Partners in HSE matters, assist with coordinating HSE activities, and ensure that policies and procedures are followed during the project execution. This role reports directly to the Site Manager and maintains close collaboration with the Project Team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide HSE support for the assigned site, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular HSE inspections, identify non-conformities, and suggest corrective actions.
- Support the implementation of the HSE plan by coaching site teams.
- Monitor and track HSE performance metrics (KPIs) and follow up on required actions.
- Deliver HSE training sessions for site personnel as required.
- Assist in accident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
- Prepare and maintain timely, accurate HSE reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the review and update of the Project HSE Plan and site-specific procedures.
- Advise subcontractors and site personnel on unsafe acts or conditions to ensure corrective measures are taken.
- Monitor partner HSE performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Communicate risk assessments and precautions prior to task commencement.
- Take immediate action to address unsafe acts or conditions when observed.
- Conduct HSE inductions for new personnel and visitors.
- Organize and document regular safety talks and HSE meetings.
- Coordinate emergency drills and ensure readiness of site personnel.
- Maintain HSE documentation in site files and relevant systems such as Gensuite.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in HSE or a related field.
- HSE experience, preferably in a construction project environment.
- Knowledge of the Energy sector is mandatory (Hydro experience is an advantage).
- Local HSE certification is required.
- Fluent in Polish and English; additional language skills are an asset.
- Practical knowledge of risk assessment, hazard prevention, and HSE compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage priorities and solve problems effectively.
