The HV Testing & Termination Engineer is responsible for the execution and supervision of high-voltage testing, validation and energisation readiness of cable systems and OSS interfaces within an offshore wind farm project in Poland.
This role is critical during pre-commissioning and energisation phases.
Responsibilities:
- Perform high-voltage testing (VLF, Tan Delta, Partial Discharge, sheath testing)
- Supervise termination installation at GIS and transformer interfaces
- Execute or oversee commissioning tests for 66kV inter-array and 220kV export systems
- Conduct fault location and diagnostics
- Review and approve testing procedures and method statements
- Prepare energisation readiness documentation
- Interface with SAP and commissioning teams
- Support first energisation activities
- Ensure compliance with the grid code and project specifications
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HV testing (66kV–220kV)
- Experience in offshore wind or large infrastructure projects preferred
- Strong knowledge of cable insulation systems (XLPE)
- Experience operating HV testing equipment (e.g., Omicron, BAUR or equivalent)
- Familiarity with GIS, transformers and protection systems
- Strong understanding of HV safety rules and switching procedures
- Fluent English
