We are seeking a Plant Electrical Engineer to oversee the electrical scope of our plant during the warranty period. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring continuous operation and maintenance, troubleshooting 24/7, and managing the acceptance of electrical subsystems.
The Electrical Commissioning Engineer is responsible for commissioning specific project equipment, including:
- Battery systems, loading devices, and uninterrupted voltage supply
- Low and medium voltage switching systems (energization, protection, interlocking)
- Generators and connections, including star point cabinets
- Transformers (dry or oil, various capacities)
- High voltage switch systems and interfaces
- HV back feed, documentation, and energization release
- Generator and transformer protection
- Voltage regulators and static start-up devices
- Energy counters, synchronization, and power switches
- Emergency power diesel units
- Generator lubrication and cooling systems
- SCADA electrical control systems, communication protocols, and troubleshooting
Essential responsibilities:
- Prepare and execute commissioning, trial runs, acceptance testing, and inspections as defined by the COMM/SIM.
- Participate in site meetings with COMM/SIM.
- Use all available tools to achieve assignment goals, aiming for continuous improvements and cost reduction.
- Prepare, manage, coordinate, and monitor safe and timely commissioning of specified systems.
- Perform commissioning according to specifications, engineering documents, safety instructions, and local regulations.
- Organize and supervise plant operations from installation turnover to COD with COMM/SIM.
- Facilitate system turnover from installation to commissioning and to the customer, following procedures/work instructions with COMM/SIM.
- Address open items lists for systems under your responsibility with COMM/SIM.
- Ensure issuance of commissioning, operation, quality record, and feedback documentation.
- Hand over documentation and software (originals) with a document list to COMM/SIM for compiling and release.
- Report commercial and technical deviations with quality records and follow up until completion with COMM/SIM.
- Maintain a diary for daily work, occurrences, problems, and pending items; keep logbooks of commissioning records and operational events as specified with COMM/SIM.
- Provide a Site Report upon assignment completion to COMM/SIM.
- Offer technical feedback to project engineering departments during debriefing meetings.
- Manage handling and inspection of commissioning test equipment; organize its return as soon as possible with COMM/SIM.
- Implement necessary EHS procedures, including method statements, risk analyses, safety walks, and toolbox talks.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with EHS requirements on-site.
- Serve as the technical expert during pre-commissioning and commissioning of Electrical Systems.
- Organize generator tests with the customer.
- Conduct investigations and/or escalations to prevent repeat issues.
- Establish testing materials and identify gaps between needs and availability.
- Execute and support all required testing, including functional loop checks, protection secondary injections, generator short circuit and open circuit tests, synchronization, and load testing.
Requirements:
- Commissioning experience and strong knowledge of the Electrical Systems of Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCPP).
- Strong analytic and problem-solving capability.
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Polish.
- An engineering degree
