QA/QC Inspector provides specialized technical oversight of the welding and anti-corrosion processes. This role is hands-on, focusing on the physical inspection of secondary steel elements such as Boat Landings, internal platforms, and airtight doors to ensure long-term integrity in harsh offshore environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspections (VT) of welds and steel structures, ensuring they meet ASME or ISO 5817 quality levels.
- Witness and verify Non-Destructive Testing, including Magnetic Particle (MT), Ultrasonic (UT), and Dye Penetrant (PT) testing.
- Supervise surface preparation (blasting) and coating application, performing DFT (Dry Film Thickness) measurements and adhesion tests.
- Identify deviations from technical specifications and issue Non-Conformity Reports (NCR), tracking them through to successful resolution.
- Conduct spot checks on material certificates (3.1/3.2) to ensure traceability of steel batches and welding consumables.
Required Qualifications
- IWI-S (Standard) or IWI-C (Comprehensive) and VT2/MT2/UT2 qualifications according to ISO 9712.
- Proficiency in the inspection of protective coatings for corrosivity categories C5-M and Im2.
- Technical degree in Mechanical or Welding Engineering.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work independently within a fast-paced shipyard environment.
- Good English and Polish language.
