Site EHS Manager

The Site EHS Manager will be Environment, Health & Safety representative during the defined period of the project. HSE Manager will be responsible to support the Site Manager, Supervisors, Subcontractors and Partner on EHS matters, coordinate EHS activities and ensure that policies and procedures are implemented during the execution of the project. He/She will report to the Site Manager and will keep close contact with the Project Team.

 

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

  • Serve as EHS support for assigned site, ensuring compliance.
  • Conduct regular EHS inspections, identify deficiencies, and propose solutions.
  • Coach site teams in EHS plan implementation.
  • Monitor and follow up on leading EHS key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide EHS training to site personnel when needed.
  • Assist in accident and hazard investigations, track corrective actions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate internal and external EHS reporting.
  • Review and update Project EHS Plan and site procedures as necessary.
  • Coordinate site EHS programs and support site management.
  • Advise subcontractors on unsafe acts/conditions for corrective action.
  • Monitor partner EHS performance and offer support for improvements.
  • Communicate risk assessments before tasks begin.
  • Take immediate action to stop unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Conduct documented EHS inspections regularly.
  • Conduct EHS inductions for construction personnel and visitors.
  • Facilitate safety talks, meetings, and weekly EHS meetings for subcontractors.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders on EHS matters.
  • Organize quarterly emergency drills.
  • Manage EHS documentation retention in site files and Gensuite.


 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in EHS
  • 5+ years EHS experience, with exposure to several EHS areas in Construction Projects environment
  • Knowledge of Energy business mandatory (Hydro business appreciated)
  • EHS Local certification mandatory
  • Fluent in Poland & English; additional languages will be a plus
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Strong site EHS experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues with competing priorities
  • High energy, self-starter
  • Practical experience in risk elimination and project management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven functional computer knowledge in utilizing Microsoft Windows and Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
